These are the only paintings/sketch that still survive from my undergraduate days at COEP. Note, the portraits above were meant only as an informal study in handling watercolors, as a sort of practice session before undertaking the more difficult on-the-spot landscape paintings in the monsoons. So, the portraits were made with the same kind of a hurry as in landscape painting. Being made in a hurry, these portraits didn't have any outline done up in pencil, and so, the faces are distorted a bit. Similarly, the ballpen sketch had no outline done up initially---I did it while idly chatting with friends in a COEP hostel. In the ballpen sketch, the horizontal marks (or line) that you see now arises due to physical folding of the picture. Later on, I had actually thrown all such sketches in one of my "room cleanup" drives; someone, very probably my mother, apparently picked it and kept it in one of my old files where it was discovered recently! ... It's been at least 25 years since I drew or painted anything... (And, though I would certainly enjoy doing it, I don't really regret not having done anything about it for years either!!)

I plan to make available here a PDF file of my informal write-ups on: (i) my opinions about marks and ranks, and (ii) my B.E. project. (Both used to be available in the version 1.0 of this Web site, and I will once again put them up here pretty soon.)
